Code
Activated Port Switches
WTI's code activated port switches allow access to multiple
RS-232 or RS- 422 ports from a single PC or host computer. Our CAS
series switches are designed for a wide variety of data collection
and broadcast applications. Common CAS applications include collecting
data from a series of sensors or scales, broadcasting data to multiple
display monitors, loading program data to NC or robotics equipment,
and sending print jobs to bar code or label printers. WTI also manufactures
a complete line of intelligent data matrix switches for remote or
local serial console access via Telnet, local terminal or dial-up
modem communication.

CAS-41
& CAS-81
4 and 8 Port Code Activated RS-232 / RS-422 Port Switches
The CAS-41A and CAS-81 Code Activated Switches are designed for
data distribution applications, where a single RS-232 device requires
instantaneous, high-speed access or transmission to multiple RS-232
peripheral devices. Port connections are selected using simple ASCII
commands sent to the CAS using your communications software. If
longer transmission distances are required, our optional RS-422
output channels can provide send/receive distances up to one mile.

CAS-161A
16 to 64 Port Expandable Code Activated Port Switch
The CAS-161A Code Activated Switch is ideal for applications that
require high-speed access or transmission to up to 64 RS-232 devices.
The modular design of the CAS-161A allows the unit to easilly expand
from 16 to 64 RS- 232 ports. If additional ports are required, expansion
units are simply added to the CAS-161A master unit. The CAS-161A
monitors data received at the Master Control Port and watches for
the ASCII command sequence to select the desired port. When a port
is selected, data and flow-control signals pass between the Master
port and selected Output port. A convenient broadcast feature allows
the CAS-161 to broadcast to all 64 possible ports. If longer transmission
distances are required, our optional RS-422 output channels can
provide send/receive distances up to 5,000 feet.
